Aries in Love |

This is one of a series of articles about astrology and love advice for women: By Carol Allen If you’ve been reading my articles for a while, you may be thinking to yourself, "This Carol chick calls herself an astrologer, but she doesn’t talk much about astrology - and she sure hates the signs!" Let me assure you, I LOVE the signs! One of my goals in writing my articles, was to try to get my readers (i.e., YOU) to stop thinking that the most important thing in astrology in terms of relationships is what sign you (or any man you like) are... As I’ve explained until we’re all blue, when you take one thing from your chart and look at it separately from everything else in your chart, you can’t do justice to the complex mixture of character traits that make you, YOU. And when it comes to compatibility and the signs, comparing yours with that of a man won’t tell you how you’ll feel together - and won’t have much to do with if you can be happy with him or not. (This is instead revealed by what constellations or "sub-signs" your Moons fall into.) So, PLEASE - if you meet a man whose sign is "supposedly" wrong for you but you like him, don’t worry about it and give him a chance... That said, the signs are fascinating for giving insight into behavior, interests, talents, and general ways of being. Though they won’t have much say over your compatibility, they DO have a lot to do with how to understand yourself and a man, and how to relate to him, and that’s very valuable. So, for that reason, every month I’ll give you little overview of each of the signs in love. This month we’ll start with Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, and we’ll take it from there. (Sorry Pisces - it’s gonna be a while... Keep reading! :)). Aries is, as I said, the first sign of the zodiac. For this reason it’s considered a youthful sign. So, in relationships - think YOUNG behavior... Aries can be impulsive, enthusiastic, bold, easily excited, playful, and highly physical (wink, wink...) But, being young, they can also be selfish, argumentative, domineering, and high-strung. Thus, Aries have to be careful of doing that "across a crowded room" thing. That’s right, they can fall in love with just one look, and leap in head first, only to kick themselves later. That is if they make time for relationships at all... It’s the sign of the "self" so Aries men and women love having their freedom and independence to do their own thing. So, if you’re involved with an Aries, make sure to encourage their latest adventures and travel plans, even if you’re not invited. The more free he feels with you, the more he’ll keep coming back... And if you’re an Aries woman, make sure the man in your life gives you tons of room to travel and play, mingle and mix, and make your big plans your first priority. Because, being a "cardinal" or moveable sign, Aries LOVE to work and pursue goals, and are happiest when "going for the gusto" in their professional lives, and having a creative outlet. This is a "fire" sign, and the fire signs (which include Leo and Sagittarius) are the most ambitious and driven. They’re happiest when working for themselves, and leading or managing others. (In other words, they can be "bossy" so are the most successful with a partner who’s easygoing...) Making them stay home and focus on "keeping the home fires burning" and doing things any way but THEIR way is the surest way to lose their love. The symbol of this sign is a ram - as in a big, horned goat. If you ever watched "Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom," back in the good old days, (and yes, I’m THAT old!) then you’ve probably seen how male rams like to compete, stomp their feet and run headfirst (and horn first!) into each other, for sport. This is typical of the Aries competitive, warrior nature. To them, debating is fun. Verbally sparring and teasing is a way to make time fly, and is definitely a way to keep them enchanted in love... So, if an Aries is doing these things with you, pulling your "pig tails," making fun of anything and everything you do, and "one-upping" you all the time - consider it a very good sign. (Think back to how you knew a boy liked you in like, oh, second grade...) And, because they’re competitive and prone to "go to war," woe to the person who makes them wrong, questions them, tries to hold them back from a dream, or does anything but cheerlead everything they do from the sidelines. So, give any Aries in your life a LOT of acknowledgement, appreciation, and attention for all of their "wins" and actions (and by all means DOWNPLAY their losses!), or they’ll start to wilt around you like a flower out of water... Athletics, by the way, is a great way to bond with an Aries. I know one Aries man who fell in love with his girlfriend while surfing, another while playing tennis, another at a hockey game... They’re most turned on by a partner they can be active with - in and out of the bedroom. Rams are full of vim and vigor, and known for having big bursts of energy - at first. But they’re not high endurance animals, and tend to "poop out" quickly. Because of this, Aries are at their best at the beginning of things, loving to initiate in relationships (whether male or female! :)) but can run out of faith or stamina over time. In love, they can come on like a proverbial Mack truck initially, but tend to get bored easily, or lose inspiration in a relationship at the first sign of trouble. I know of one Aries man who proposed to his wife on the third date, for example, and an Aries woman who was engaged to her husband in a mere month. In both cases, however, these passionate people were often tempted by "greener pastures" when the going got rough in their marriages (which is inevitable in any marriage), and both ultimately left their partners for someone else - every bit as impulsively. Another Aries I know moved to a foreign country to live with a woman after being together less than six months. So, an Aries can "sweep you off you feet" like no other sign of the zodiac, and if they’ve set their sights on being with you - good luck resisting. But, if at all possible, it’s wisest to get to know them over time to be sure you can truly hold their enthusiastic gaze once the excitement of new love has calmed down. (Please do this with anyone of any sign, by the way...) Aries live for excitement and FUN, so the death of any relationship with an Aries is burdens, duties, and routine... If things start to get "stale" or predictable, try to throw something new into the mix between you... (And yes, this can include wigs and costumes and "toys"...) Encourage your bored Aries to go on a new crusade or international adventure, or at the very least go do something playful and downright silly together. Again, Aries are youthful, LOVING games and sport - so a great way to reignite their ardor is to take them to an amusement park, ambush them with water pistols, or throw them on the back of a motorcycle and follow wherever the road takes you. Aries would rather be spontaneous than plan, so life with one will be full of change and possibility, either bringing constant excitement, or constant exhaustion. Don’t say I didn’t warn you...
